Perform mammography exams and invasive procedures on patients while adhering to radiology and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Operates mammography equipment, computer, and image management systems utilized in performing breast imaging exams.
  • Perform and assess quality control measures on equipment and procedures.
  • Determines how the technique selections affect optimal image quality.
  • Follows policy and procedures.
  • Ability to navigate on-line resources pertinent to job responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate with other individuals; visual acuity; ability to lift and move patients; push and pull wheelchairs and stretchers;  withstand extensive standing, stooping, bending, squatting or sitting;  ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
  • Will be responsibile for working in diagnostic imaging in ED and with portables.
  • Ability to work weekends, shift rotations and rotating holidays.

Qualifications

  • ARRT registered RT-(R) (M) and meet MQSA standards for performing mammography.
  • Maintains certification in BLS.
  • Personal computer skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Display critical thinking and decision-making skills.
