The Radiology Student Tech will perform diagnostic imaging procedures on patients while adhering to radiology and safety protocols under the supervision of a Radiologic Technologist.

Responsibilities

  • Operates diagnostic imaging equipment under the supervision of a radiologic technologist.
  • Determines how the technique selections affect optimal image quality.
  • Follows policies and procedures.
  • Assists Radiologic Technologist in performing duties as well as helps move patients.
  • Ability to navigate online resources pertinent to job responsibilities.
  • Display critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to access entire facility; ability to communicate with other individuals; visual acuity; ability to lift and move patients; push and pull wheelchairs and stretchers; ability to withstand extensive standing, stooping, bending, squatting or sitting; ability to push/pull and/or operate heavy machines/equipment; ability to perform repetitive tasks.

  • Demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.

  • May work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Job duration is from present time until graduation of Radiology Technologist Program. 

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program, second semester of first year or second year student.
  • Maintains certification in BLS.
  • Enrolled in clinical training
  • Personal computer skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions given by technologist
