As a Medical Office Assistant, you will orchestrate physician follow-up appointments and coordinate with the Infusion scheduler. Your mission includes keeping provider schedules running smoothly, collecting copays, answering billing queries, processing medical records, and managing calls. You'll be the essential link working with the New Patient Coordinator to ensure smooth scheduling for new patients. Plus, you'll have opportunities for cross-training in Registration and New Patient Coordination.
Appointment Scheduling: Primary responsibility for scheduling follow-up appointments for physicians and coordinating with the Infusion scheduler to ensure appointments are accurately arranged and confirmed.
Provider Schedule Maintenance: Regularly updating and maintaining provider schedules based on the On Call schedule to ensure optimal coverage and availability.
Financial Transactions: Collecting copays and payments from patients, addressing basic billing inquiries, and ensuring accurate processing of financial transactions.
Medical Records Management: Processing and batching medical records to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information.
Communication: Handling incoming calls, answering patient questions, and providing information as needed to ensure effective communication within the medical office.
New Patient Coordination: Working closely with the New Patient Coordinator to schedule appointments for new patients and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
Cross-Training Opportunities: Engaging in cross-training for roles such as Registration and New Patient Coordination to enhance flexibility and support within the office.
