Responsible for repairing and maintaining mechanical and plumbing systems in the hospital, inspecting and testing electrical equipment, estimating costs, and preparing requisitions. Ensures proper functioning of HVAC and refrigeration systems and collaborates with contractors for construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and renew mechanical systems

  • Inspect and test electrical circuitry or equipment as needed

  • Estimate cost of replacements or repairs and prepare requisitions

  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty mechanical components to ensure continued mechanical and plumbing services

  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on mechanical and plumbing systems

  • Operate the energy management system to ensure continued mechanical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems

  • Collaborate with contractors to complete construction projects

  • Inspect construction projects for deficiencies and report to the supervisor

Qualifications

  • High school diploma

  • 1-2 years of specialized training in mechanical field

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience (5 years preferred)

  • Valid NC driver's license

  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and specifications
