Overview

*Hybrid remote with onsite Saturday rotations*

 

The Physician Liaison is responsible for working effectively with the medical staff, health care providers and other personnel as needed to expedite the ongoing and timely completion of documentation in patient records for compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and/or related standards, policies or practices for medical records. The Physician Liaison must have a working knowledge of documentation required in patient charts as needed to accurately review, effectively follow-up, and process transactions from designated work queues. Duties also include effective and timely follow-up with providers regarding priority chart completion requirements including both pre-suspension and delinquent charts. 

Responsibilities

Individuals must work well independently and effectively in identifying methods for reviewing documentation timely and effectively following up to obtain information and/or prompt timely completion of documentation that may be needed in patient charts. The Physician Liaison should also be familiar with HIM quality review functions as needed to assist with chart analysis, processing transactions from the fax-in queues, and other priority functions as needed or directed 

Qualifications

Education and formal training: Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field or equivalent experience in the health information management field.

 

Work Experience: Two years of experience in a health information management setting including chart documentation analysis preferred. Will consider HIT degree in lieu of experience. Excellent PC knowledge and skills including windows and hospital information system software
